Darth Vader

Darth Vader is one of the most powerful characters the Star Wars galaxy has ever seen. However, his power is not used for good, but evil. Vader takes his power from the Dark Side of the Force. Though he was once known as Anakian Skywalker, anyone who knew Anakin would not recognize him as Vader. Anakin was a powerful Jedi Knight, that some believed was the legendary One who would bring balance to the Force. However, Anakin was turned to the Dark Side by then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, a.k.a. Darth Sidious, the head of the Galactic Senate. Palpatine later took over and proclaimed himself Emperor Palpatine. Anakin became his apprentice after a vicious fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi, his former master and Jedi Knight. It was during this fight, which will take place in Epidsode III, that Anakin sustained his life-threatening wounds which would force him to wear his breathing apparatus. It was at this point that some believe Anakin Skywalker ceased to exist and Darth Vader was born. Darth Vader was the one who exterminated all of the Jedi Knights excpet Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda. Before he was turned to the Dark Side, Vader had two children Luke and Leia Skywalker, born by his wife Padme Amidala. Vader eventually found Luke and tried to turn him to the Dark Side. Ironically, it was Vader's former master Obi-Wan Kenobi that reached Luke first and began training him as a Jedi. Luke was Obi-Wan's only hope for saving the galaxy from the Emperor's tyranny. Luke eventually learned that Vader was his father and tried to turn him back to the Light Side. Luke eventually succeeded and defeated his father in battle, allowing Anakin Skywalker to become one with the Force. Overall, Vader was one of the most terrifying villians the Star Wars galaxy has ever seen, though at heart, just as Luke saw, he was really good.
