Wedge Antilles, somehow related to the famous senator Bail Antilles of Alderaan, is one of the greatest Rebel pilots in the galaxy. He's been with the Rebels through it all and always escapes unscathed. He flew as cover for Luke Skywalker in the famous Red Squadron during the Battle of Yavin. Wedge's X-Wing was damaged and he had to pull out, but without out his cover, Luke may never have reached the Death Star's exhaust port and been able to destroy it. Wedge was one of the few survivors of the Death Star attack and stayed with the Rebellion as it went into hiding on the barren wasteland of Hoth. Wedge found Commander Skywalker and Commander Solo right before the Battle of Hoth after they had been lost the night before. Wedge was also the pilot who perfected the technique of tripping up Imperial AT-AT's with Snowspeeder tow cables. Though this technique failed to turn the tide of the Battle of Hoth, it surely helped save many lives and let many more Rebels escape. At the Battle of Endor, Wedge once again led the attack on a Death Star, the second one, and succeeded in penetrating the battle station's core and with the help of Lando Calrissian and the Millenium Falcon, destroying the Death Star and forever saving the galaxy from Emperor Palpatine and his minions. Wedge Antilles is definitely one of the best pilots of all time and without his efforts, the Rebellion may never have succeeded in winning the Galactic Civil War.
