(T-47 Airspeeder)
The "snowspeeder" is actually a T-47 airspeeder that has been heavily modified. It has two forward mounted laser cannons and is heavily armored. Its top speed is about 1,000 kilometers per hour, but it usually fights at about half that speed. Since the ship is so small and fast, it is hard to destroy. However, they are no match for and AT-AT which the Rebels found out on Hoth. There is a rear mounted two cable on the back of the ship that is normally used to tow cargo and supplies. However, the Rebels made use of it to tie up the AT-AT walkers in the Battle of Hoth. The snowspeeder can also be modified for any habitat giving it such names as "swampspeeder" or "sandspeeder". It ha appeared only in The Empire Strikes Back.
