Yoda: The Little Green Dude With an Attitude!

***This page is dedicated to RaQwin Young....Yoda rocks!***

Yoda has just recently come into the limelight due to his amazing fight scene in Episode II, at least for me (and RaQwin) anyway. I always found him to be a cute little guy with a lot of spunk, but who would of guessed that he was such a great swordsman despite the 800 years under his belt. Yoda is definitely one of the coolest little green guys around and so I have dedicated a page solely to him. I will load it with pictures and info about Yoda and I think that it will help many others realize that Yoda is the coolest!

Yoda is a Jedi Master of the highest caliber. He is over 800 years old when we first meet him in Episode I, he's 874 years old in Epidsode II, and he is over 900 when we see him again in Episode V. Despite his age, Yoda is possibly the greatest warrior the Star Wars galaxy has ever seen. The only thing that can equal his wisdom and cunning nature is his skills with a light saber. This is quite apparent when he takes on Count Dooku in Episode II.

Despite his obvious size disadvantage, Yoda still has the upper hand in this battle. Dooku underestimates Yoda's power of the Force which is somewhat strange considering Dooku was once the Jedi master's apprentice. Dooku attempts to use Force lightning ala Emperor Palpatine, but of course Yoda counters it easily. This picture is not the best quality, so just go see it yourself.

All young Jedi padawans begin their training under Yoda. One can see this first hand in Episode II. At the time of Episode V, Yoda has been training Jedis for over 800 years. He has trained some of the greatest Jedi warriors the galaxy has ever seen: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Luke Skywalker and Mace Windu just to name a few. Well, technically, Yoda trains mostly all the Jedis who enroll at the Jedi Academy in their childhood.

Anyway, Yoda is forced to flee to Dagobah once the Jedi purge begins. It is there that Luke, "the new hope", arrives in search of Yoda. Yoda puts on a rather humorous guise and Luke becomes impatient. Seriously, the scence when Luke first meets Yoda in Episode V is hilarious and still one of my favorite scences of all time. In reality, the humor was just a test, one of the many that Luke failed. Luke later leaves to fight Vader despite Obi-Wan's and Yoda's warnings to not go. Luke never technically finished his training with Yoda and he was also the last pupil that Yoda ever trained. Yoda dies in Episode VI when Luke returns to finish his training. Yoda informs him that his training is already complete and that "there..is a...nother....Sky...Walk...er." Yoda then disappears as he becomes one with the Force. It is unclear the requirements to "become one with the Force" when a Jedi dies. For example, Qui-Gon Jinn does not disappear when he dies. Obi-Wan and Yoda both do, so one can assume that only the greates of Jedi Masters disappear when they die, and Yoda is surely one of the greatest Jedi Masters of all time.

Yoda Quotes
"No, try not! Do or do not, there is no try."
"You must unlearn what you have learned"
Luke-"I don't believe it" Yoda-"That is why you fail"
"Pain leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering"
"Master Obi-Wan has lost a planet, how embarrassing, how embarrassing"
"There is no why--clear your mind of questions"

"I'm looking for a great warrior"-Luke "Wars not make one great"-Yoda
P.S. I can't remember everything from Episode II just yet, and I'm sure there are more great Yoda quotes in it, I'll post them as soon as I either see it again and/or but it on video.
