Captain Needa was the foolish officer who supposedly lost the Millenium Falcon after the Battle of Hoth while traveling through an asteroid field. In reality, Han Solo, had executed a risky and cunning maneuver, landing the Millenium Falcon on the Star Destroyer Avenger itself. Thus, the Falcon became invisible to the Imperials' radar. Needa found himself in a perilous position when Darth Vader called just then to check up on the pursuit. Needa said he would accept full responsibility and apologize to Lord Vader in person. He did just that, and Vader choked him to death saying he accepted his apology. Though Needa played a small role in the Galactic Civil War, his death was perhaps one of the most memorable, and amusing, of the series.
